Just a few days before New Year’s Eve, A Theory of Love passed 18 million streams on Spotify. It’s an incredible number — much more than I had expected any of my songs to reach!
In this attention-hungry capitalist mess we live in, numbers are way too often confused with success or meaning.
I have never made music for numbers, but I think it’s absolutely wonderful that my music has found its way to so many people’s lives around the world!
It’s crazy that this, something that I do — which, by the way, is often a very private and mystical practice — is appreciated and enjoyed by so many around the world. Making music can be lonely, so it does feel good to know that people enjoy what I do.
So, thank you all who have listened to my music recorded or live! Your time and support means a lot to me.
