A Theory of Love (A New Single)

Today is my birthday and because of that I want to give a little gift to you. It’s called A Theory of Love and it’s the first single from my upcoming album, Real Music for Unreal Times: Vol. 2. On this track I played the cupolas and keys, Ilkka Heinonen played the double bass and Iida Sinivalo played the cello.

This song is my humble attempt at understanding and describing the phenomenon of love. I’m not saying this is the best or even a good theory on this subject, but it is a theory nonetheless. And perhaps even a limited theory is better than none, because it searches for a path towards acceptance at the presence of a mystery.

A theory is a mirror that reminds us to look at things in a certain way. Maybe the reminder in this one is hidden in its brevity… Two minutes, two months, two years, two decades, two centuries… The short and nimble moments that turn into infinities in the eyes of a loved one (before they are suddenly gone).

For my birthday, I ask you to express your love today to someone dear to you. If you find it difficult or you’re not used to telling it, you can send them this little writing and this little song and they’ll know.

If you want to support me and my music you can still preorder my new album at my crowdfunding page at Mesenaatti.me! The campaign is running until the end of May and at the moment of posting this I have still some way to go to reach my goal. With your support I can continue making more music and, who knows, maybe even create a more useful theory of love! Thank you!
